PBRPC’s 9-1-1 Department works with the County 9-1-1 Addressing Coordinators in the region, local telephone companies, and wireless companies to ensure every 9-1-1 call is received and managed efficiently at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). We provide planning and technical assistance to PSAPs throughout the Region. Training is offered to all PSAP telecommunicators to maintain State mandated certifications.
The 9-1-1 systems and database maintenance projects are funded
by a local service fee of $.50 cents per local exchange access line
per month, and by an equalization surcharge fee imposed on intrastate
long distance service.
The Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) is an agency
of the State of Texas charged with the oversight of the Statewide
9-1-1 and Poison Programs.
