Below you will find the programs available through PBRPC:
9-1-1 - Emergency Communications-
PBRPCs 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Department works with
the County 9-1-1 Addressing Coordinators in the region, local telephone
companies, and wireless companies to ensure every 9-1-1 call is
received and managed efficiently at the Public Safety Answering
Point (PSAP). We provide planning and technical assistance to PSAPs
throughout the Region. Training is offered to all PSAP telecommunicators
to maintain State mandated certifications.
Area Agency on Aging
The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) of the Permian Basin directly provides
services to people who are age 60 and older, their families, caregivers
and others who help them such as friends and neighbors. Goods and
services such as homemaker, transportation, congregate meals and
home-delivered meals, are also purchased for eligible persons through
vendors located in the Permian Basin.
Criminal Justice
The Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission (PBRPC) Criminal
Justice Program assists local governments and non-profit entities
with the development of programs and projects designed to address
particular crime related community problems.
The Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy offers training and certification
courses for peace officers in the Permian Basin region. A 17-week
certification course and a series of quarterly courses are available
through the academy.
Economic Development
The Economic Development Department of the PBRPC serves the 17 counties
of the Permian Basin as a resource for county and city officials
to use for economic and business development activities that help
to create a region of economic growth and prosperity.
Environmental Services
The PBRPCs Environmental Services Department offers assistance
and resources for solid waste, sustainability, and renewable energy
initiatives. Environmental Services is also responsible for administering
the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Solid Waste
Program for the Permian Basin.
Homeland Security
PBRPCs Homeland Security Department's major purposes are to:
provide information and assistance to PBRPCs local government
members in the planning and implementing of homeland security programs;integrate
regional planning and priorities with state agency activities; assist
TARC, TEEX, and Governor's Homeland Security Director; the Division
of Emergency Management (GDEM), and other state agencies that administer
emergency preparedness programs in their work with PBRPCs
local government members.
Pipeline Safety
Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission's Pipeline Safety
and Awareness project serves as an assistive and educational resource
throughout its 17 county areas. This project serves in a collaborative
effort to assist in promoting pipeline safety awareness
