Call 8-1-1 Before You Dig!
BEFORE you do any digging, whether it is for a home improvement or even something as simple as planting a tree, homeowners and professionals must call 811 or use the appropriate portal to get underground utility lines marked for FREE.
Texas law requires homeowners and contractors to contact 811 two business days (excluding weekends and holidays) before digging, even if it’s just working in the backyard. The U.S. is crisscrossed with more than 2.3 million miles of underground pipelines and more than 80 percent of “no call” damages involve gas lines struck by hand tools.

Welcome to Pipeline Safety
The Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission's Pipeline Safety and Awareness project serves as an assistive and educational resource throughout its 17-county area. Pipeline companies are mandated by Federal law to provide ongoing safety awareness programs to the general public, appropriate government officials, schools, organizations, and any persons engaged in excavation-related activities in regards to safety. This project serves in a collaborative effort to assist in promoting pipeline safety awareness and is funded by the US Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
Pipeline Safety Awareness
Basic Pipeline Orientation provides general safety information that workers need to know before entering a company worksite and while performing their assigned work duties. Students will learn about hazards they may encounter in the pipeline industry and become familiar with various practices to mitigate those hazards.

Mr. Gann's core competencies include General Industry, Construction, as well as H2S Clear safety training for Veriforce LLC, Medic CPR & First Aid, SafeLand, and IADC Basin United safety training.

What to Do if You Detect a Leak
DON'T: Light a match, start an engine or activate any kind of electrical switch, including lights, or do anything that may cause a spark.
DON'T: Drive into a vapor cloud.
DON'T: Have any kind of contact with any escaping material. Some products are toxic and/or corrosive.
DO: Leave the area immediately. Warn others in the area.
DO: Refrain from any activities that could cause heat or sparks.
DO: Turn off any running machinery.
DO: Notify 911 or emergency personnel once you are clear of the danger area, but move out of the danger area first! Even a cell phone can cause a spark!
