Basic Peace Officer Course Training

The Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is a comprehensive, state-mandated training program combining classroom instruction and hands-on practical training, designed to prepare cadets for licensure and a future law enforcement career. The current TCOLE-mandated BPOC is 736 hours.  PBLEA’s 21-week BPOC course covers legal knowledge, law enforcement skills, physical fitness, and real-world scenarios to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the challenges of police work and successfully pass the state licensing exam. PBLEA’s program also incorporates additional classes into our basic training that are requested by regional agencies.

Agencies enroll cadets by submission of a notarized DOLCEE form attesting that the student meets eligibility requirements. A release of liability is also submitted.
