Details
Description
The Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission is holding a Mass Casualty Attack Response Workshop. This discussion will be facilitated by the Texas Office of Homeland Security. Participants will include local, state, and federal law enforcement, emergency management, fire/EMS, and public health communities, among others. The goal is to help Texas communities more effectively respond to mass casualty attacks such as the active shooter events in Sutherland Springs, El Paso, Midland-Odessa, Uvalde, Allen, and elsewhere.
The discussion-based event will focus on the response to attacks against mass gatherings. The workshop aims to improve related preparedness and response procedures by enhancing information sharing among all relevant stakeholders; identifying best practices; and addressing areas for improvement.
The Permian Basin Mass Casualty Attack Response Workshop will be conducted Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Gregory D. Williams Hall, 2714 Robertson Ave., across from Odessa College.
