Doing Business is Easy in The Permian Basin

Texas works hard to make doing business easy. It has extensive access to global markets, predictable regulations, and additionally, has no corporate or personal income tax. The Permian Basin is the best of Texas and more: the benefits for businesses expanding or relocating here are undeniable. We have everything from shovel-ready business parks to farms and ranches, from city amenities to rural wide-open spaces. Our businesses are supported by robust internet, extensive energy resources, and location advantages that provide for the easy distribution of goods.

The Permian Basin is a top-five producer in the world in oil and natural gas, representing four percent of global oil production and 39 percent of US oil production. The region produces over a tenth of the natural gas in the U.S. The Permian Basin energy sector is vital for the Texas economy, supporting more than 200,000 jobs while generating over 10.8 percent of Texas’ Gross Domestic Product.

While the Permian Basin is an energy powerhouse, in recent years, leaders have worked hard to diversify the economy. The University of Texas - Permian Basin is home to the Center for Energy and Economic Diversification. The region now supports a growing number of aerospace, distribution, and business service companies, in addition to many family-owned businesses and farms.
